Previous waterproofing system was coming to the end of its natural life and showing considerable signs of wear and tear. Customer also anted to increase the fall on the roof in order to encourage rain water to drain.
Upon taking a core sample from the roof we discovered that it comprised of an old felt system, fully bonded to mastic asphalt which had been laid onto a loose concrete screed laid on top of stramit boards.
This being the case, it was not suitable for the customer’s budget for us to strip the roof bare and re-build. We therefore fixed firring strips to the existing roof, installed new 18mm OSB boards onto the firring strips and then installed a new high quality built up felt roofing system.
The new roofing system comes with an approved installers 20 year insurance backed guarantee covering materials and workmanship.
